Changing things up a bit!

Hello world! I've taken over Sam's daddy blog and I'm attempting to start blogging. I kept trying to decide what the best way would be for me to share all of Brynley's stories and a friend suggested I blog. So I figure I'll give it a shot! I probably have some catching up to do...it looks like the last blog Sam posted was our 2011 Christmas card featuring our precious girl! Those were her 6 month professional photos and a lot has happened since then! Here is the run down:

6 months: Brynley says "da-da" for the first time and its official her first word is "dada".... Sad day for this mommy! She also began scooting across the floor which then turned into a full on army crawl that is speedy Gonzales fast! Which then moved into her transitioning from scooting to sitting on her butt! It amazes me how many changes occur is such little time! We celebrated Halloween and our princess was no other than, a princess! She was Belle from Beauty and the Beast (her favorite movie)! We also had our first big fall this month...it was all my fault and I wont go into detail but I will say that I have considered putting her in a plastic bubble to live! I know, I know! It happens...so I guess I'll just invest in some ice packs and band aids because with her on the move falls and "booboos" are inevitable!

7 months: We went from the army crawl to crawling in no time! The next thing I know she is attempting to pull herself up on anything and everything around her! Be it the ottoman, entertainment center, couch, etc! This girl is a mess and she isn't even walking yet!  Not only will she pull herself up but she is attempting to balance too as she will let go of whatever it is she was holding onto! Usually she falls graciously on to the floor but occasionally I have to pull out the icepack or wipe away a few tears....Thanksgiving came and went and our family had MUCH to be thankful for. We were able to celebrate with both families and it was so nice! An unimaginable amount of love overwhelms us when we spend time with our families and it was a beautiful thing :) We are very blessed to have that much love supporting us and baby B too! This month I noticed that her bangs were getting a little long so I decided to give her a trim...bad idea! It looked very much like I had used a bowl to guide my cut and she looked silly for a few days :) Her next trim will definitely be by a professional! Sam worked some funky hours this month and Brynley and I decided to have a sleepover at my parent's house! It was nice to spend the evening and night with them and meet Sam in the morning. This ended up being a good idea because he was able to get the rest he needed and we were able to spend some quality time with Cappy and Gigi! Since it was the Christmas season we decided to take Bryn to her first Parade of Lights in Cy Fair. It was so much fun and it being able to share these moments with our daughter is like reliving childhood all over again..only better! Seeing her face light up at the lights and seeing what she noticed and heard was so much fun! It is definitely a tradition we'd like to continue. The last major event of this month is she started to attempt to say "mama"! It sounds more like "mmmmmmaaa- mmmmmmaaa" but hey! I'll take what I can get :) As far as I'm concerned, she's said her second word!

Now that you are all caught up on the big events of the past 2 months I can tell you that Brynley is eating 4-5 bottles a day, plus one veggie and one fruit puree. She will eat any veggie or fruit, expect pees. For some reason those never fancied her! She LOVES all the Gerber snacks like the puffs, yogurt bites and cookies :) These treats are lifesavers if we are out at a restaurant or at the store!

Miss priss is such a happy baby! People ask me all the time if she ever cries...the answer is OH YESS! but for the most part she is a pretty happy kid! I would like to think that her dad and I have something to do with that, because we pretty much laugh 99.9% of the time we are together but then again, what do I know?? All I can say is that we feel pretty darn blessed to have a happy, healthy baby girl and all I can do is thank God each and every day for giving her to us.

Watch Me Now, Hey!

What a couple weeks it has been!  So I told you a couple weeks ago Brynley began sitting on her own, which she is becoming quite skilled at. While she was improving her sitting ability, she must have lost her balance and tipped over square.  Poor girl, had mom sitting right behind and by the time Christina turned to catch her, Brynley was sitting there flat on her face.  It sounds worse than it really was, but Brynley paused for a second or two, then a loud cry burst out.  Probably the loudest I have heard her in all her 5 months of being with us. Christina began sulking her and trying to settle her emotions. Well the pain must have been too much. As Christina turned towards me, all I saw were 2 huge tears sliding down her cheeks, lips curled downward, and eyes just filled with tears. I would have to agree with what parents say, "when they hurt, you hurt".  That statement is as true as it gets. 

Brynley is 5 months now and I am working on trying to get her to say "Da-Da", but it has been a very slow process. She will get there soon.  No signs of any teeth yet or her beginning to crawl.  She will definitely be crawling sooner than later I just know it.  In the evenings she loves to talk.  Brynley will go on and on on how her day went with Goo or how happy she is after finishing dinner. You didn't know we spoke baby talk did you?  We are so blessed to have such a happy baby.  We love her to pieces and can't wait until she begins to walk and talk. That will be a fun age..... I think.  :)     Her feeding habits have been pretty normal.  She typically eats about 6 oz per feeding, but we are about to begin some mushed up carrots or sweet peas.  I think she will enjoy the new foods.  We are on the hunt for a Halloween costume, so stay tuned for that picture. Heck, we might even get some good video footage. Until then, PEACE!

Say it Aint So

As I am jamming out on my iPhone, a song came on that made me think.  'Say it Aint So' was playing and I am wondering wow, Brynley is now sitting on her own...... Say it aint so.   She has been a joy to watch thus far and I know many more wonderful memories will be produced as she continues to grow.  Seems like yesterday she was a mere 7lbs and keeping mommy and daddy up way past bedtime. Now she is just over 15lbs and 25in long.  Her conversations have become a regular occurrence and Christina and I ask each other.... What do you think she is trying to say?  Every day I am thankful for this miracle that was given to us.  As I blog more and more, you will realize that I will constantly reiterate my feelings for Brynley and how much she has altered our life as well as our lifestyle. 

Brynley is just shy of 5 months and we hope we can continue to see her develop and make mommy and daddy proud.  We started her on Rice cereal about a month ago and has taken it pretty well.  A little too much can cause her to spit up a little.  We also tried to spoon feed her the rice cereal and we were somewhat successful. She didn't know what to think about this weird object entering her mouth.  She knew it wasn't her usual bottle.

So to go back to the sitting up on her own...... We discovered her doing this one Friday afternoon (which was on 9/2) and was blown away that she was able to keep her balance at such an early age.  Granted she is not 100% balanced.  She does have her few tip overs.  She has bumped her head and nose in the process, but I could tell she was ready to sit back up and try it again.   She is loved by so many and I want to personally thanks each and everyone of you for your contribution whether it be diapers, clothes, or the love and affection.  She is such a happy and wonderful baby, I think one day she will realize she is an Olympic Champion and make Dad proud.  :)  What?, a father can't dream of her child becoming such an elite athlete?  I mean her Dad(me) was one of the best athletes that walked the face of the Earth.  Ok, I am exaggerating a little. She is truly a blessing and will continue to update you on her progress.  Until then, PEACE!

Such a Gigglemeister

OK, So Mom(Christina) figured out this weird word, which isn't even a word, and Brynley could not contain herself. Every time that jibber jabber came from Mom's mouth, she cracked up (Make sure to view that video below).  Seems as though normal verbiage just doesn't seem to entertain her as much as the odd noises coming from Mom and I. She has been such a joy to be around.  Every time I see that face, I can't help but just giggle myself. 

So she had her 4 month shots on Friday- 8/30 and the first shot was a stinger.  She did not like it at all.  The next 2 were very quick and really didn't have alot of time to think about the pain those 2 caused because she was still crying from the first one.  After some TLC from Dad (No Mom this time, just me), she began to settle down.  After 5 minutes she was as good as new. I felt proud because here I have a 4 month old that was just given 3 shots and not a tear present.  Behind me I see a 5 year old crying uncontrollably.  That was a proud moment for me.  Mrs. Brynley represented the Mitchell family quite well. 

At her appointment, the nurse took her weight, height, and head circumference.  She came in at 15.4lbs and 25in long.  I cannot remember her head circumference, but I know it was around the 40th percentile.  She is healthy as can be and on her way to becoming the next Jenny Finch.  :)              

We set up her 6 month appt. in October and by then we hope she is crawling. Mom and I will continue to work on helping her obtain this goal, but eventually she has to do it on her own right?  Until next time, PEACE!

Where have I been?

Over the past months you were probably wondering where is Sam and his beautiful family?  Have no fear, the Mitchell's are here.  Well as many of you proud parents know, it is work to have a kid but its well worth it.  Every time I look at Brynley's chubby cheeks and her enormous smile, I can't help but laugh and smile too. 

I am writing a quick blog because I was inspired today with some great news.  I won't go into details but let's just say they are expecting! I will keep the names to myself only to hide the identity.  Wouldn't want to be the spoiler and ruin it for some.  So I have opted to remain silent till word has spread. So reading her blog reminded me that I have been such a slacker and need keep everyone in the know. Check out the photo's and videos of our wonderful daughter and her hilarious antics. 

With school beginning soon, Christina has been working hard day in and day out to get her T-shack ( aka portable bldg) up to speed with posters, schedules, back pack rack, and any other tasks I failed to mention. With her focus ands drive to make sure everything is ready for the first day of school, I have taken more time to be with Little Miss Princess. We laugh and talk to one another.  She is learning to use her left arm for throwing/hitting and I am teaching her the game of baseball.  Don't worry, I am introducing her to many other sports, hunting, and lawn care.  Sometimes we go outside and water the lawn or pick some weeds together. 

So in my next blog, I will try to include up to date pics and maybe a video.  A break down of how life in the Mitchell household is run and what's in store for future events and activities. Until then, PEACE!

Baby Brynley - After the Delivery: Part Uno

Let me start out by apologizing to all of you who read my blog. It has been a very interesting journey so far and as most of you know, a time consuming effort at that.  Here I am today with a beautiful baby girl that just lights up my life every time I see her cute face.  She is 1 month old tomorrow, but doesn't seem like it.  Although the days have been somewhat pleasant, it's the evenings/nights we tend to question. Some nights she sleeps well and doesn't wake Daddy much.  But some nights she has a hard time sleeping and keeps Daddy up most of the night.  Lets just say work the next day is a challenge.  I do enjoy seeing Mrs. Christina and Brynley bond together. She is very good with Brynley, but there are times where she questions her motherly instincts.  I try to remain positive and patient with two of them, because I know it can be very frustrating trying to figure out what works and what doesn't to try and calm the little one.  So I try and take over when I get home from work, but that presents a challenge too seeing that I don't have the "goods".  It's ok, I WOO "Booger' with my dancing and singing.  I call her Booger, because she is so tiny - like a booger.. Well some peoples boogers, there are few peeps out there with marble size boogies.  Sorry, off topic.......I have a secret way to calm her, but Mommy has been advised to not use my tactics.  This is to ensure that I maintain my bond with her and she knows who her Daddy is. 

I think Christina and I have become somewhat immune to baby cries.  It seems Brynley enjoys crying ALOT!  So having a lot of patience really helps when dealing with a baby that practically squeals louder than the bark of our dog, Astro. I am dead serious here people. Any one of you can come stay the night and get a real taste of her true actions.  But seeing her with her eyes wide open and her just lying there peacefully just takes the place of her fussiness.  I don't think you really know how much work it is until you are actually a parent.  You hear about it and read about it, but you always think people are just exaggerating. I know Christina has worked her butt off with caring for Brynley and also completing other things around the house, updating her status on facebook, or calling her man at work -ME :)  She tackles the laundry, takes care of the kitchen, and picks up around the house -all while caring for a 1 month old!  Pretty impressive right.  I tell ya, I would be worn out if that were me.

I am going to try and continue updating my blog every week and I want to include a short story of Brynley's antics to bring some life to this blog.  Give you an inside perspective of what we go through or what we are having trouble with.  So in conclusion, here is my story.

On a cool, dry Sunday afternoon we all gear up for what we think will be a piece of cake kind of day.  Brynley's first photo shoot is today and we have all her outfits picked out.  She has been bathed, fed, and now changed. BML Photography shows at around 12:30pm to set up a mini studio for the glamorous Brynley. "Alright, here we go. Lets get this paparrazi show going" I say. Let me say that the whole picture taking was not as smooth  as we had hoped. She was crying, she was fussy, she was moving all about and not quite sure how these photo's will turn out. Typically, you see alot of newborn pictures where the baby is sleeping in these cute little poses.  HA, not Brynley. She was awake the whole time and could not get in a nice and comfortable position to pose for the camera.  We would practically give her a little taste of milk that was left on the nipple of the bottle to try and sooth her. She caught on real fast that there was no milk coming out of it.  One picture we did was where Mommy and Daddy were holding Brynley by our fingertips.  I was holding the rear end and Christina was holding her head.  We maybe got 2 or 3 good photos and about the second photo she decided to poop a little, in Dad's fingers. How nice of her right?  So I clean my fingers and we try to calm her down again. This time we were ready and she was doing so great. Last picture in this pose and wouldnt you know it.........A stream of pee gushing out all over my hands and feet and also on the sheet we were standing on. What a wonderful daughter she is.  :)  All in all, she was a trooper. I think later that night we had the best sleep we had ever had in a while.  Moral of the story, make sure you wear shoes and socks if holding a new born by her bum!.  Have a good night! 

Oh the Process of Pregnancy - Numero Siete

So it has been a while since my last post and A LOT has happened since then.  I won't go into much detail because I could probably write forever and blogs shouldn't be like reading a novel.  So I will try and keep it simple and brief. 

Christina is now on her 38th week and creeping up on her 39th week and you can definitely say she is mighty full.  Two weeks ago, Christina and I went in for an ultrasound doctors visit that included measuring the baby to get an idea of how much she approximately weighs.  6lbs 5oz. was the estimated weight and the ultrasound tech mentioned she had some hair on the back of her head.  You know like a mullet.   All fluids were good, limbs in tact, heart like a lion, and a face like a beauty queen.  During this same visit, Christina was checked to see if she was dilated and she was not.  Which I don't think her or I were surprised at all. So this doctors visit concluded and everything was a go from here. 

Christina was scheduled to see the doctor the next week and this was a routine checkup to make sure Christina was doing alright and if she had any issues come up from the time of the last visit.  Nothing was to be reported on Christina's part, but lately, it seems she is itching to get this baby out.  Which I don't blame her, I am ready too. Bring on the sleepless nights!  So this checkup was nice and easy and she was in and out of the doctor's office in no time.  Oh, the good news is that she was dilated 1cm.  Ok, here we go.......IT HAS BEGUN!

SO this leads me into this past weekend.  JAM PACKED with exciting stuff.  We began on a Friday evening by celebrating Cody's (Christina's little bro) 18th birthday.   Man, I can remember the first time I met this guy.  He was a12 year old,  4-eyed geek with mad skills in sports.  A little chunky too. HA.  But over the past 6 years I have seen this guy mature has a boy into a young man.  So a shout out to Cody for turning 18.  On Saturday, Christina and I were given a Couples Baby shower from a few special people.  4 to be exact, but I am not sure I can name drop here.  So lets just call these ladies the Fab 4.  The ladies did a fabulous job hosting this baseball themed party.  It was awesome!  We had a very good turnout with a few couples we haven't seen in a while and so it was great to chat with them and see how they were doing.  Great participation with the baby games and if you go to Christina's Facebook page, you will get a small taste of the Fab 4's outstanding party.  These ladies along with a few others have been so great to Christina and I.  It is so appreciated and we can't say enough how much these individuals have been such a helpful part of this pregnancy process. So Thank You, and you know who you are.  The party was a success and Brynley received many many items to add to the collection of other items we have so far.  So thank you to those who came and supported us on this wonderful occasion.

Sunday was the icing on the cake.  Got watch the Houston Astros play for the first time this season. I believe this series against the Florida Marlins was the series home opener. Sorry, I have to name drop here. Michael Bourn ( my college roommate and former UH baseball teammate) was recognized for his second consecutive Golden Glove award and we were rewarded with a MB bobble head.  It was Brynley's first Astro's game and we won 7-1!  What a great way to complete this fun filled weekend and to make way for this precious little human boo boo!

Every day is an adventure. Whether it be with friends or family or just hanging out with Mrs. Christina.  Always something new to talk about or seeing the baby hiccup and move around.  I am sure we will have many many stories to tell once she arrives.  So hopefully, I can continue this blog for those who aren't able to be around, to get an inside feel for how the pregnancy/child raising process is going.

Today (April 13), Christina has a doctor's appt. for a routine checkup so stay tuned for my next blog will most likely be about this past visit. Who knows, next time I blog, I could have a little Brynley sitting right beside me. EEEEEKKKK!!!   P.S. I wanted to also send a shout out to our parents who have been such a great blessing and has made this journey very easy.  Thank you so much, and we love you.  Until then, PEACE!

Oh the Process of Pregnancy: 6

Ladies and Gentlemen........Today is a very exciting day. So exciting I had to write about it today, at work.  Don't worry people, this is way more important! 

First off, I wanted to give a shout out to my fellow Gartz Family and Cooley Family.  The Gartz family gave us a wonderful baby couples shower and went above and beyond to make this day special.  And a special thanks to the Cooley's for driving all that way to participate in the festivities. It was enjoyable watching Brett and Crystal running around making sure Chase did not get into something he shouldn't.  Man he is an explorer.  He was into everything!  Secondly, I have to say I was a tad bit disappointed with the attendance for our past shower.  And that's all I have to say about that. We are bringing a little girl in this world and that is all that matters as of late. 

So today is a big day for us because we go in for our final ultrasound.  Along with this ultrasound, I believe there are some other tests or measurements to show the size of our baby girl.  We will get a better idea if Christina will be induced or have a natural baby birth.  We are both anxious to see what she will look like because we haven't seen her in quite a long time.  My advice to those of you going through pregnancy or thinking about it is this:  Take your own blank DVD to record your ultrasound. The doctor's office will not provide a DVD every time you get an ultrasound.

I would like to take a minute to talk about my wonderful wife.  Lately, she has been such a pleasure to live with.  I know, you are wondering "she wasn't a pleasure to live with before?"  She was a pleasure to live with, but I was doing a lot of chores around the house and it was getting tiresome. I was in need of some help.  Seems like lately she has stepped it up and has been telling ME that we need to keep this house nice and neat.  I am like, "Heck Yea, that's my kind of woman!"  But in all seriousness, Christina has been such a breath of fresh air.  To be able to carry our child for 9-10 months, always keep an uplifting attitude, a desire to make sure our baby has everything she needs, and continue to go to work day in and day out is really remarkable.  I am truly blessed to be involved with such a respected and classy woman.  She brightens my evenings when I get home from a torturous drive from work with a smile from ear to ear and a happy, loving spirit.  We make each other laugh always and I hope this continues to be shared with not only our friends and family, but with one another and our baby Brynley.  Christina inspires me to be a better person and with her by my side, I know this is an easy and attainable feat.  Though not all moments are sweet and joyful.  We do share disagreements that ultimately leave us not speaking to one another for quite some time.  But it's her who always makes sure that we don't stay mad at each other.  Why should we, between now and April 25th we could be newly parents about to have out life turned upside down.  We both welcome this challenge and are open arms for anyone who wants to give advice or babysit. :)  

So my blog today comes from excitement, love, and an eagerness to see our soon-to-be baby girl.  This will be a life changing event for myself for I will be a proud Daddy soon and will not have one clue as to how to raise her.  But I have a "rock" living under the same roof and have complete confidence that this "rock" will be the strength that keeps this family working and in order.  That rock is Christina. Oh the Process of Pregnancy: V

Today is a Great Day!  Right now I am at work blogging, which I don't know if I should be. It will be ok. Don't worry.  :) 

So it's been a while since my last blog and there has been many activities since.  I will say the most memorable came when Christina and I attended this Infant Care class.  We covered how to bathe, burp, clothe, diagnose, feed, and what "stuff" is supposed to look like.  This class was very informative and we were able to, well I was able to, learn and have hands on training for our soon-to-be baby.  Snacks were provided as well as refreshments to give us a break from class.  This was a 3 hour class and luckily enough, it didn't feel like a 3 hour class.  Christina and I will be better parents now and you might as well say we are the Top Parents to draft in this years Amature Parenting League! All in all this was a great experience and would highly recommend for any new parents that don't know anything.(I am mainly talking about myself here)

This past weekend was packed with gatherings and friendly outings.  Having already parents around to guide us and advise us on what to exepct is very much needed.  So we decided to get together, not only to hear about baby stuff, but to just sit and relax with people that we enjoy being around.  Friday was a meeting with the Gartz family.  Their little guy was very good.  Ate his dinner, people watched, and chewed on some spoons.  I thought to myself, man that doesn't look to hard right there. I think I could do this with no problems. What a joy it was to relax and catch up on old friendship. 

Satruday was an all day event. Knowing I had a busy day today, I installed the blinds in the baby room so I could get a head start for Saturday.  Mowed the lawn, planted a Sago Palm, watered the yard, swept the driveway, filled my truck up, went to the bank, and had enough time to install some cabinet hardware.  I fininshed the master bathroom with installing hardware and so I am thinking I am nearly a professional at this. Confindence can lead to mistakes I tell ya.  I ended up drilling two holes on the wrong side of the drawer.  So now when you walk in the guest bathroom, you will see 2 extra holes in the drawer.  So please try and not look.  Thanks. :)  The chores needed to be done so that the house would be nice looking for the family appreciation dinner.  This was to give back to Christina's Aunt and Uncle and as well as her Grandparents for putting together the baby bedding and getting us the very nice, plush rocker.  We had spaghetti and meatballs, salad, fettuchini alfreda, and chocalte cake.  It was good times!

Finally on Sunday we met up with the Mosleys and Baileys for a little brunch. But before this Christina and me graced our presence at The Woodlands church.  Sermon was great and left their feeling positive and high on life.  We have so much to look forward too, so why shouldn't we have these feelings, right?  Brunch went well and for the rest of the day, Christina and I hung out and relaxed. Watch some TV and took a brisk, very brisk, walk down the street and back.  So all in all, this was a great weekend.  I look forward to more like these.

Oh The Process of Pregnancy: Part IV

Today has been a very relaxing day.  Slept in and stayed in bed til about 9ish.  Well I thought it was 9ish, but really it was 10ish.  Completely forgot about the time change this weekend and that through me off a tad. 

I cannot express enough how grateful we are to have such wonderful people in our lives.  I received a call from my wonderful wife while I was at work.  It was late in the afternoon and Christina was sounding excited on the phone.  I was like, "why do you sound so excited?" Come to find out, her students and their parents graciously gave us very nice gifts to help us out with the baby.  We were stunned a little because these were pretty expensive items.  Before Christina and I ended our conversation, I made sure to let her know that Mr. Mitchell(me) said Thank You for the gifts!  Christina then relayed that message and all I heard was yelling.  I am assuming they were saying Your Welcome.  But it made me chuckle a bit. 

Christina is 34 week on Monday (3/14) and it is getting down to the wire. I think we have a class set up for Wednesday and this will help us on learning the process of Breastfeeding.  What to do and what not to do. Her and I feel very strongly about this and hope this class will give us the edge on tackling such a frustrating feat.  In the weeks to come, we are preparing for baby showers, baby classes, and important baby appointments.  Pretty soon, we will tackle the car seat thingymajigger and get out a checklist for what we need to bring to the hospital in case Christina goes into labor early.  So much to remember.  I know Christina has a few items on her TO DO list this week since she will be off for Spring Break, so look for possible pictures of the baby room on future blogs.  Until then, PEACE!

Oh the Process of Pregnancy III

So it's 7:58pm on Thursday and my wife and I are watching American Idol and video recording Brynley moving about. May be doing some fist pumping after listening to some of the songs being played tonight, I don't know. 

I thought I was not going to enjoy my time out taking maternity pictures, but I think it went quite well.  Time went by pretty quickly and having.......... Sorry I was interrupted with "Can you feel my belly?" I was saying, having a photographer that is easy to work with makes it that more enjoyable to take these kind of pictures. So kudos to Ms. Britt Mosley for taking exceptional pictures and being that photographer that does not make me feel awkward and weird. Her website will be listed at the bottom of my blog. 

On a side note: I wanted to take this time to reflect back on our relationship and see how far Christina and I have come.  We have both been through some difficult times, some memorable times, some loving times, some angry times, but most of all, some family times.  Yea, some days can be more stressful than others but I feel Christina and I can work through the bad to get to the good. She is such a strong woman and the rock in our relationship.  Now she might think differently, but I think that's what makes us such strong individuals and an even stronger partnership. We have a sense of balance between the two of us and that eases my mind when its full of negativity or skepticism.  I know the both of us are going to be awesome parents for which we both share love for this kid, and she is not even here yet. 

I know we are are going to make mistakes, argue over who has to get up and feed or change her, disagree on a punishment, agree on a curfew, take her to school, help carry her books, teach her about sports, and most of all - support her in whatever or whoever comes into her life. Lookout world, Brynley is about to take it by storm!   This princess will be on the loose to steal all your hearts! :)   Love you already.  Until then, PEACE.

Oh the Process of Pregnancy : Part Duex

So it's 9:45pm and I am trying to figure this whole blog thing out. Not sure how well I am doing but the frustration is building a bit.

For the first time tonight, I was able to feel Christina's belly when Brynley was having the hiccups.  How cool was this?!?  Was definitely a weird feeling.  Not the same as her moving around in momma's belly, but it was definitely a cool experience.  Christina is 33 weeks and going strong.  She doesn't complain alot but she does have her days.  As for me, I am excited about what is to come.   For the most part I feel I have been very relaxed and easy going when it comes to the fact that I am going to be a Daddy in about a month! 

I have to say that Christina's belly is growing by the day. Seems like every time I take a peek at it, looks bigger than before.  This tells me that there is a good chance we might have a strong and healthy baby girl. I am praying for that.  After experiencing a few minutes of the baby shower, It's very reassuring that there are so many family and friends supporting and loving this little princess.  The added help has been so welcomed and we feel extremely blessed with all the shared love and generosity. 

The baby room is near complete and I think Mamma has plans to finish this project sometime during Spring Break. Until then, PEACE

Oh The Process of Pregnancy

Good Morning all. Bear with with me for this is my first blog I have ever compiled.  I wanted to open a blog to give you a Husband/Father-to-be point of view of this whole pregnancy process.  Granted, my wife and I are a little over 8 months into this process, so I am a little behind.  :) 

First off, let me say that I couldn't be any happier about this little princess coming into our lives. She has already been showered with love and sweetness from the time we announced our pregnancy.  Her name is Brynley for those of you out there that don't know already.  Brynley Elizabeth Mitchell. 

So in summary, we found out we were pregnant sometime in late August or early September.  Decided on a first name pretty early, but didn't decide on a middle name until about the 7 month of our pregnancy.  We are almost finished with Brynley's room and have begun to receive baby gifts to help us out once she arrives(which is supposed to be April 25 - the day after Easter). Christina has her 35 week appointment at the beginning of April and at this time we will be able to get an idea of how itty bitty or how large and in charge Brynley will be.
